” I have known Fernando Feliciano for twenty years. During that time he has assisted me with many different tasks, the most important of which was designing and maintaining the grounds of my 3-acre estate in Montecito, CA.
I trusted him with this crucial assignment for two reasons: first, I saw the excellent work he had done with the adjacent estate of a neighbor, and most importantly, I knew that he had studied the specific ecology of the area and had academic preparation in addition to his demonstrated practical experience.
My trust in him was validated when the time came to sell the property. In spite of the adverse conditions following the collapse of the housing market in 2008, I was able to sell my property in that year for three times the sum I had paid for it without having made any structural improvements solely on the basis of the beautiful landscaping. Fernando had essentially remade the grounds and raised the level of beauty from average to exceptional. Naturally, I hired him to remake the grounds of my next home which, again, he accomplished marvelously and which my wife and I are enjoying to this day.
Equally important is his fundamentally ethical nature. He tries to “do the right thing” in every aspect of his life, and this has led me and my wife to place the highest degree of trust in him. In the many years we’ve known him, he has never violated that trust nor let us down in any way.
Finally, I must mention a trait that is very important to us: kindness. Fernando is an extraordinarily kind man, and shows this in all aspects of his life and work. He treats everyone with respect and humanity no matter whether they have been fortunate in life or not. I mention this because it’s my belief that a person’s character shows in every aspect of their life, especially when they are assigned the task of creating surroundings that are harmonious with nature. “

‘Fernando coaxed our tired and uninspiring little plot into a lush and interesting garden of delights. He redesigned the space, suggesting new and varied plants that have thrived in Santa Barbara’s climate. I especially appreciate how Fernando brings me into the decision-making process of beautifying our property by teaching me about plant varieties and their needs. He has equipped me with knowledge that I continue to use to this day. Once Fernando and his team installed our new garden, they maintained it, including repair of our garden’s irrigation system. Thanks to Fernando, the garden increased our house’s value which was made clear when we recently sold the property.’
